2026 Forest Expo

For the past three years, I’ve had the opportunity to capture the Priest Community Forest Connection’s annual Forest Expo, a hands-on outdoor learning experience for local sixth-grade students.

Throughout the day, students rotate through ten stations where local professionals bring forest management to life. From timber harvest and forest products to wildfire, recreation, hydrology, weather, wildlife, tree and plant identification, and even planting trees themselves, there is always something happening and something worth capturing.

My goal with these photos is to document more than the event itself. It’s to capture the curiosity, hands-on learning, and connection happening between students, professionals, and the forests that surround our communities.

After three years behind the camera at Forest Expo, it continues to be one of my favorite community events to photograph.
